Footwork Drills for Offensive and Defensive Play

Footwork is the foundation of basketball skills. Begin with pivot drills—practice front and reverse pivots for 10 reps per foot. Add jab-step drills, completing 3 sets of 15 jabs from triple-threat position. For defensive footwork, practice "Slide-and-Sprint" drills, sliding laterally for 5 meters and then sprinting forward for 10 meters. Repeat this sequence 10 times. Spend 15–20 minutes on footwork drills during each practice to enhance agility and stability on the court.
